IB Easter Revision Course, 2019

Frequently Asked Questions

If you have questions about the revision courses which aren’t answered here, why not get in touch?

Elite IB Revision Courses offer an intensive, exam-focused revision programme at key points during the academic year, aimed at students preparing to take their exams, whether internal or external, and/or students who wish to boost confidence and knowledge prior to the start of the new academic year. Students will consolidate their knowledge of the course, practice exam techniques, and gain confidence ahead of their exams or new school year. The Course leaders are Elite IB tutors who have received the best feedback over the past year - they are engaging and fun, and are all IB graduates themselves! Workshops have an average of 5 students to a tutor to ensure each student gains the benefits of both private tuition and small group-based learning.

Whilst private tuition is an excellent way of securing a student's individual knowledge with a tutor over a long period, Revision Courses offer the chance for students to study in small groups where the dynamic allows for interaction, discussion, and learning from one another at key points during the academic year.

There are separate courses for first and final year IB students as well as MYP5 students, leading up to mocks and finals respectively. Attendees are supported in groups of an average of 5 students to a tutor ensuring highly personalised, level-specific support. Course leaders are selected from Elite IB's best tutors, all of whom are IB graduates or teachers, and over the period of the Course will provide intensive syllabus revision, exam technique, and past paper practice.

The Easter Revision Course for final year IB students runs over a period of nine days, split into two and three-day subject-specific workshops, whilst the Easter Revision Course for first year students runs over a 4 day period in one and two-day subject specific workshops and MYP5 workshops run over a 3 day period with one day dedicated to each subject. Each day at the course offers 7.5 contact hours focusing on syllabus revision and exam technique. Students are more than welcome to attend the course for one, two, three or four subjects, meaning students are able to attend up to nine full days depending on the length of the chosen workshops and the academic year which they are in. Should the Course schedule not allow you to take all subjects you would like to attend, please do contact us at [email protected] and we will be happy to discuss an individualised plan of support.

If you are booked onto a workshop which consists of more than one day, this means the workshop is designed specifically to provide support over the two or three full days. Hence, students are unable to book & attend just one day of these workshops. If you have any queries about this, please contact us on [email protected] or on +44(0)2033023868

Our IB specialist tutoring agency consists of a team of tutors who excelled in the programme themselves, and hold degrees from leading universities, including Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial, and LSE. A number of our team have previously taught, or indeed currently teach, in IB schools. From our team of IB tuition experts, only the very best, with exceptional feedback throughout the past year and who have academically specialised in the subjects they teach, are selected to teach at the Revision Courses. For more information on your Course tutors please see the Our Tutors web page.

Registrations officially close on Sunday 31st March; we do, however, encourage students to express their interest as soon as possible, as the skills of our tutors and our small class sizes mean places often fill quickly. There may be spaces available for particular workshops after this date, so if you have missed the deadline but are still looking to register we encourage you to contact us directly on +44(0)2033023868 or [email protected] to enquire about availability and waiting lists.

Students may benefit from a number of discounts, including the Early Bird Discount, Multiple Booking Discount, and Bring a friend Discount. For further information on these, please see the Fees & Payment web page or the Brochure.

The size of each group at the Easter Revision Courses has an average of 5 students to a tutor, ensuring each student can benefit from individualised support.

All attendees are asked to bring their calculator, if relevant, stationary, a notebook or writing paper, formulae booklets and any specific past paper questions they wish to focus on during the day, in addition to a willingness to learn and enthusiasm for the Course!

The course in 2018 took place at the prestigious Godolphin & Latymer School near Hammersmith Station in West London. Venue for 2019 is scheduled to be released January 2019. For more information on location, please see the Location & Accommodation page.

The course runs over multiple days and therefore, if students live outside of London, booking accommodation is recommended. Please see the Location & Accommodation pages for recommendations of accommodation within near vicinity of the course. Of course, should you have any queries about this, or be looking for something different, please do not hesitate to contact our team on [email protected] or on +44(0)2033023868. Please note that the cost of the accommodation is not included in the cost of the Revision Course itself and is hence an extra expense to be covered by the student.

Further information can be found in our Easter Brochure or please do get in touch at [email protected] or at +44 (0)203 802 6862. We welcome any question, large or small.

If you are resitting one or more of your IB exams this May, then this course is perfect for you. You might have found yourself in a position where you are needing to Retake, or possibly, you just want to prove that you can gain those extra few marks. We understand that this can be a challenging and confusing time, and there certainly isn’t enough information out there for students! The workshops at the Easter Revision Course primarily focus on exam preparation - ensuring the students leave the course understanding the more difficult topics of the syllabus and know how to apply their knowledge to IB style exam questions, so whether it will be the first, second or third time you sit an IB exam you can feel confident you are in good hands with our expert tutors. Each workshop is shaped around YOU and you will be able to leave information about your academic history and pass on requests of what you wish covered by your workshop tutor in advance. On average the workshops host 5 students to a tutor which ensures that there is enough time for each student to receive the individual focus they require to excel in their exams.

If you are resitting in November, then we recommend you to take a look at our Retakes FAQs and the Retakes Course in October
