Frances completed the IB in 2012, scoring 41 points, as part of the first cohort of female students to attend King’s College School Wimbledon.
Her choice of higher level subjects reflect her diverse interests and skills: having taken HL English Literature, Chemistry, and Fine Art.
Through the IB Frances discovered her passion for History of Art, which she went on to read at St Peter’s College Oxford. In her dissertation,
Frances looked at contemporary Western tattooing practices through an art historical lens - exploring the tension between subject and object,
and questioning the status of ‘artworks’ that exist on living bodies.
After graduating, Frances completed her PGCert in primary education while working full-time as a busy Year 2 teacher through Teach First,
and was awarded Qualified Teacher Status in 2018. Frances brings her experience as an IB student and her knowledge of the education system from a teacher’s
perspective to her role as courses and events manager, keen to tailor our courses to meet the needs of students and
in response to the changing demands of the IB curriculum.
