Supercharge your phone with apps to help you keep your focus.
Juggling six subjects is a unique burden only IB students have to bear. It’s important to take every opportunity to make revision easier, so we’ve compiled our favourite apps to help make your IB revision easier!

It can be easy to get distracted when you’re trying to revise. SelfControl lets you set a list of websites to block (Did someone say Instagram? Twitter?) and a timer for how long you want to be barred from using them. It’s pretty much full-proof: restarting your computer, quitting the app, you still can’t access those websites until your time’s up!
Only blocking websites for a little while, a short break every hour or so can help revision!

The Pomodoro technique is a well-known way to structure your time which involves 25 minute working sessions and 5 minute breaks. It’s a great way to make sure you’re not working too hard and to avoid burning out.

SelfControl is great for avoiding websites, but if you have Instagram on your phone it’s not much help. If you have an iPhone Apple’s new ‘Screentime’ feature lets you set daily or weekly limits for any particular app. You can use it ration your time and make sure you’re not spending too much time looking at your phone when you should be revising!
Giving yourself a reasonable amount of time to enjoy an app during breaks, like 30 minutes a day.
Get your friend or parents to set your Screentime password so you don’t just turn it all off in the settings when you want to check your feed!
No surprise here: Evernote is the notetaking app for anyone and everyone who needs to take notes often. With notes syncing across devices, the ability to search text in photos, reminders, and notations, it’s one of the most powerful tools for keeping on top of your notes for class!
Compiling quotes and the best bits from your IB Literature books:
With Quizlet you can create flashcards sets to help you revise, it’s like the flashcards of the 00s but with interactive diagrams, voice memos, and cards sets you can share with friends. With an iPhone and Androd app, you can take them wherever you are on the go.
